Προσοφθάλμιο, Explore Scientific 62° φαινομενικό οπτικό πεδίο, 20 mm εστιακή απόσταση

The Explore Scientific eyepiece with a 62° apparent field and 20 mm focal length is an eyepiece designed for use with astronomical and terrestrial telescopes. It delivers mid-range magnification that is suitable for detailed views of the Moon and planets as well as for wider views of star fields and some deep-sky objects depending on the telescope's focal length and aperture. The eyepiece is compatible with standard eyepiece holders and provides comfortable eye relief and a wide visual field useful for both visual observing and imaging through a telescope.

Advantages

This 20 mm eyepiece offers a balance between magnification and field of view, combining a 62° apparent field with ergonomic eye relief to support extended observing sessions. Optics are designed to minimize edge distortions and deliver a consistent sharp image across much of the field. Compatibility with common focuser sizes and straightforward mechanical construction make it easy to install and swap with other eyepieces during an observing session.

Suitable for

• Planetary and lunar observation at medium magnification
• Wide-field views of star clusters and rich star fields
• Visual observing sessions and astrophotography with compatible setups
• Terrestrial viewing through long-focus spotting scopes and refractors

Key specifications

• Apparent field of view: 62°
• Focal length: 20 mm
• Form factor: standard telescope eyepiece for common focusers
• Eye relief: comfortable for eyeglass wearers and extended use
• Optical design: multi-element eyepiece optimized for reduced edge aberrations

How to use

Insert the eyepiece into a compatible eyepiece holder or focuser and secure it according to the telescope's clamping mechanism. Start with a low-to-medium magnification position and adjust the telescope focus until the image is sharp. For best results, use a stable mount or tripod, allow the telescope to reach thermal equilibrium, and center the target in the field before fine focusing. When switching between eyepieces, refocus as necessary to account for different focal lengths.

Recommendations

For planetary and lunar detail, use this 20 mm eyepiece on telescopes with moderate to long focal lengths to achieve medium-to-high effective magnification while maintaining a wide apparent field. For wide-field views of clusters or star fields, pair it with shorter focal length telescopes or focal reducers as appropriate. Clean optics with a soft brush or lens tissue and store the eyepiece in a dry, dust-free case when not in use.
