Προσαρμογέας καλωδίου RJ-45 ShiverPeaks BS08-01049

The ShiverPeaks BS08-01049 is a compact black RJ-45 cable gender changer designed to join two male Ethernet cables, effectively converting two RJ-45 plugs into a continuous link. It houses two RJ-45 female connectors in a small, robust enclosure intended for use with standard Cat5e and Cat6 patch cords. The adapter preserves signal paths for typical network applications and provides a simple mechanical solution for extending cable runs when a single longer cable is not available.

Advantages

This gender changer offers a straightforward way to connect two RJ-45 cables without reterminating or running new cable. Its compact form factor minimizes space requirements in patching areas and behind equipment. The device is built to maintain contact integrity between connected plugs, reducing the likelihood of intermittent connections and preserving Ethernet signal quality for common networking scenarios.

Suitable for

• Temporary extension of Ethernet patch cables in home or office networks
• Joining two short patch cords behind desks, in rack spaces, or near wall outlets
• Field use where a longer single cable is not immediately available
• Network troubleshooting and quick cable reconfiguration tasks

Key specifications

• Connector type: female RJ-45 on both ends
• Color: black
• Compatible cable types: standard twisted-pair Ethernet patch cords (Cat5e, Cat6)
• Form factor: compact inline adapter
• Electrical contact: metallic contacts designed for standard RJ-45 plug engagement

How to use

To use the gender changer, insert the male RJ-45 plug of the first Ethernet cable into one end of the adapter until it clicks, then insert the male plug of the second cable into the opposite end. Ensure both plugs are fully seated and that the latching tabs engage to secure the connection. Position the adapter where it will not be subjected to tension, twisting, or frequent movement to maintain reliable connectivity.

Recommendations

For best results, use the adapter with high-quality, undamaged patch cords and avoid creating long concatenated runs of multiple adapters or connectors, as each additional connection point may introduce signal loss or mechanical weakness. If a permanent, high-performance link is required, consider installing a single continuous cable appropriate for the environment instead of relying on inline adapters.
