PIKO 40357 N-Modell ηλεκτρική ατμομηχανή BR 116 DB εποχή IV

The PIKO 40357 captures the classic lines of the Deutsche Bundesbahn BR 116 in compact N scale, delivering a level of detail that stands out on any layout. Unlike generic electrics, this model replicates the former E 16 with its distinctive wheel arrangement and fine roof equipment, offering both collectors and operators a faithful representation of Era IV motive power.

Highlights

• Authentic BR 116 (E 16) prototype with Era IV DB livery
• Powerful 5-pole motor with flywheel for smooth, quiet running
• Directional LED lighting: white headlights forward, red tail lights reverse
• Die-cast metal chassis for excellent pulling power and stability
• NEM 651 digital interface for easy DCC decoder installation
• Close coupling mechanism and NEM pockets for reliable operation

In daily use

On the rails, the PIKO 40357 performs with confidence. The combination of a flywheel-equipped motor and traction tires on one axle ensures steady starts and stops, even on gradients. It negotiates R1 curves (192 mm radius) without hesitation, making it suitable for compact layouts and hidden staging yards. The directional lighting automatically switches between white and red depending on travel direction, adding realism during switching and mainline runs.
