Rittal 4590.700 rack plate is a single-piece steel mounting plate with a silver finish designed for secure installation inside server, network and industrial racks. The plate provides a flat, robust surface for attaching equipment, panels or accessories where standard rack rails do not provide sufficient support or when equipment requires a continuous backing surface. Supplied as one solid sheet, the plate is suitable for environments that demand mechanical stability and even load distribution.

Advantages

The steel construction ensures high stiffness and resistance to deformation under load while the silver finish offers corrosion protection and a neutral appearance that integrates with most rack interiors. Being a single-piece plate simplifies installation and alignment compared with assembled or sectional plates. Its plain, flat design allows flexible positioning of mounting points and accessory attachment without the constraints of pre-cut holes.

How to use

Position the rack plate inside the cabinet at the required height and align it with the enclosure mounting points. Secure the plate using appropriate fasteners compatible with the cabinet’s threaded or cage-nut rail system. If additional cutouts or holes are needed for devices or cable routing, mark and prepare them prior to final installation, taking care to deburr edges to prevent cable abrasion. Verify that the plate is level and firmly attached before mounting equipment.

Recommendations

For safe and durable installation, use corrosion-resistant fasteners sized to the rack’s rail system and follow the cabinet manufacturer’s load specifications. When mounting heavy equipment, distribute weight evenly across the plate and check that the cabinet structure can support the combined load. If modifications are required, perform cutting and finishing in a workshop environment with appropriate personal protective equipment.
