Why choose it

The brushless motor is electronically controlled to optimise battery energy use, giving up to 50% longer runtime per charge compared to brushed equivalents. Variable speed control via trigger and dial lets you match the speed to the material, while the soft start and electric brake improve control and safety. The pendulum action can be adjusted to suit the application—from fine, splinter-free cuts to aggressive fast cutting in thick timber.

Ideal use cases

• Cutting curves and cut-outs in worktops, plywood, and laminates
• Trimming timber, plastic, and non-ferrous metals on site
• Fitting kitchens and bathrooms where precise bevel cuts are needed
• General carpentry and renovation work

Good to know

The DJV185ZJ is compatible with all Makita 18V LXT batteries and chargers, but battery and charger are not included. The Makpac case keeps the tool protected during transport and storage, and the tool-less blade change system makes swapping blades quick and easy.
