The DeLOCK PCI Express x1 Card to 2 x Serial RS-422/485 adds two external serial ports (RS-422/RS-485) to a PC. It supports PCIe 2.0 host interface, 15 kV ESD protection and a 256 B FIFO buffer. The card is supplied with a standard and a low profile bracket for installation in desktop or Mini-PC systems.

How to use

Install the card into an available PCIe x1 slot (or compatible PCIe slot) on the host PC and secure the appropriate bracket for the chassis. Connect external RS-422 or RS-485 devices to the terminal connectors. Configure the required mode and termination via the on-board jumpers (choose Auto Detect, RS-422, RS-485 4-wire or RS-485 2-wire) and set data bits and stop bits according to the peripheral device specifications.

Recommendations

For reliable serial communication, enable terminating resistors at the ends of long transmission lines and verify wiring for correct 2- or 4-wire configuration.
