Rittal PK 9581.000 is a white polystyrene enclosure access cover designed for hinged attachment of covers in electrical enclosures, control cabinets and instrument housings. The panel offers a lightweight and rigid solution that provides electrical insulation while allowing easy access for service, inspection and mounting of small components. A supplied drilling template facilitates precise alignment and straightforward assembly.

Advantages

The polystyrene construction delivers low weight with sufficient rigidity for non-structural access panels, and its insulating properties reduce the risk of accidental contact with live parts. The white finish provides a neutral appearance that integrates with common cabinet interiors, and the supplied drilling template simplifies installation by indicating hinge and fastening points. The panel is suitable for situations where a simple, replaceable access cover is required without extensive modification to the enclosure.

Suitable for

• Access openings in electrical distribution enclosures
• Inspection and service hatches in control cabinets
• Mounting small instruments, meters or switches inside housings
• Retrofit or replacement access panels in existing installations

Key specifications

• Material: polystyrene (white)
• Design: flat access panel for hinged attachment
• Properties: electrically insulating, lightweight, rigid
• Includes: drilling template for mounting and hinge positioning

How to use

Mark the desired position of the access opening on the enclosure and use the supplied drilling template to transfer hinge and fastener locations accurately. Cut or prepare the opening according to the enclosure material and secure the panel using appropriate hinges and fasteners for the cabinet type. Ensure that edges and cutouts are free of burrs and that the panel sits flush to provide reliable access and protection for internal components. Follow applicable electrical safety procedures when installing in live environments.

Recommendations

Use suitable corrosion-resistant fasteners and hinges compatible with polystyrene to avoid stress cracking. Avoid exposure to strong solvents, extreme temperatures or prolonged direct sunlight that can degrade polystyrene; where higher mechanical strength or UV resistance is required, consider alternative materials.
