The BlueOptics 470-ADBK MPO-MPO Multimode OM4 3 Meter Blue patch cable is designed for high-speed parallel optical links in data centers and enterprise networks. Featuring MPO connectors on both ends and OM4 multimode fiber, this 3 m cable supports short-reach, high-bandwidth transmission in dense cabling environments. The blue jacket provides straightforward visual identification in patch panels and cable trays while the multimode OM4 core is optimized for 10 Gbps, 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps aggregation and server connections over short to medium distances.

Advantages

This MPO-MPO multimode cable offers consistent optical performance and low insertion loss for parallel transceiver use. The OM4 grade fiber delivers higher bandwidth and extended reach compared to lower multimode grades, making it suitable for modern data center fabrics. The 3 meter length balances flexibility and management in patching scenarios, and the durable blue jacket protects the fiber while simplifying cable identification during installation and maintenance.

Suitable for

• Data center top-of-rack and inter-rack connections
• High-density MPO trunking and breakout assemblies
• Parallel optics transceivers (e.g., 40GBASE-SR4, 100GBASE-SR4)
• Patch panel to patch panel or cassette links

Key specifications

• Fiber type: Multimode OM4
• Connector type: MPO to MPO
• Length: 3 meters
• Color: Blue jacket for easy identification
• Application: Short- to medium-reach high-bandwidth optical links

How to use

Install the MPO-MPO cable by aligning the MPO connector key and carefully inserting each connector into the corresponding MPO adapter or transceiver port until it clicks. Avoid excessive bending near the connector ends and maintain manufacturer-recommended bend radius throughout the cable routing. For MPO trunk or cassette environments, confirm fiber polarity and mapping before making live connections, and verify link continuity and optical loss with appropriate test equipment after installation.

Recommendations

Store and route the cable to prevent tight bends and mechanical stress; use cable management accessories in racks and patch panels. Use this OM4 multimode MPO-MPO patch cable with compatible multimode MPO transceivers and ensure proper polarity and end-face cleanliness for optimal optical performance.
