The METZ CONNECT 151S1JOJO30E 3 m LCD Violet is an OM4 multimode fibre optic patch cable designed for high-density networking environments. With a 50 µm core diameter and LCD connectors in violet housing, this 3-metre cable supports high-speed data transmission with low attenuation and is suited for short- to medium-distance links within data centers, server rooms and high-performance computing installations.

Advantages

This OM4 fibre cable provides improved bandwidth and reduced modal dispersion compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling reliable 10 Gbps and higher-speed applications over the recommended distances. The 50 µm core ensures compatibility with standard multimode transceivers, while the LCD connectors and violet jacket make identification and organization in patch panels and cable trays straightforward. The cable construction emphasizes consistent performance and mechanical stability for repeated insertions and operational environments.

Suitable for

• Interconnects between switches, patch panels and servers in data centres
• High-performance computing clusters and storage area network links
• Short- to medium-distance multimode backbone runs inside buildings
• Environments requiring color-coded fibre management and easy identification

Key specifications

• Cable type: Multimode OM4 fibre
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 3 m
• Connector type: LCD multimode connectors (violet housing)
• Jacket color: Violet
• Typical use: Patch cable for data centre and enterprise networks

How to use

Route the 3 m fibre patch cable between the two desired ports, ensuring connectors match the transceiver or adapter type. Avoid tight bends and secure the cable with appropriate cable management to prevent strain on the connectors. Before deployment, inspect connector endfaces and clean with approved fibre cleaning tools if necessary to maintain optimal optical performance. Plug the connectors firmly into the transceiver or adapter until you feel a secure engagement.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable following standard fibre optic practices: maintain minimum bend radius, protect connector endfaces, and label cables for easy identification. Use the OM4 cable for multimode links within recommended distance limits for the target data rates, and perform link testing after installation to verify insertion loss and continuity.
