LOGON AL5SCSC01I/4I OM4 1 m 2x SC–2x SC (pink) is a 1-metre multimode fibre optic patch cable engineered for high-bandwidth short-range connections. The cable uses OM4 multimode fibre with a 50 µm core diameter and comes terminated with duplex SC connectors (two SC plugs on each end). It is intended for use in data centres, storage area networks and InfiniBand or other high-speed interconnects where reliable, low-loss multimode performance is required.

Advantages

The OM4 multimode construction provides improved bandwidth and extended reach compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling higher data rates over short distances. Duplex SC–SC termination offers a simple, keyed connection that is widely compatible with equipment that accepts SC interfaces. The 1 m length and factory-polished connectors reduce insertion loss and simplify rack patching and server-to-switch cabling. The pink jacket aids visual identification in dense cabling environments.

Suitable for

• Patch panels and short rack-to-rack or rack-to-equipment connections
• InfiniBand and high-speed multimode network links
• Storage area networks (SAN) and server interconnects
• Data centre fibre management where OM4 performance is specified

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm multimode core
• Length: 1 metre
• Connector type (each end): duplex SC (2 × SC)
• Connector polish: factory-polished multimode endfaces
• Jacket colour: pink for easy identification
• Application: short-reach, high-bandwidth multimode links

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces for cleanliness before installation and clean with appropriate fibre cleaning tools if necessary. Plug each duplex SC connector into the matching SC adapter or equipment port, observing correct polarity if the link requires it. Route the cable through cable managers to avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s recommended minimum bend radius. Test the installed link with suitable optical test equipment if verification of loss and connectivity is required.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable to avoid tight bends and excessive pulling force. Use the pink jacket as a visual cue for OM4 multimode links in mixed-fibre environments. For critical links, perform insertion loss and continuity testing after installation and periodically as part of maintenance.
