Καλώδιο οπτικών ινών Helos 5m OM3 LC/LC

The Helos 5m OM3 LC/LC fibre optic cable is a duplex multimode link with a 50 µm core diameter, designed for high-speed data transmission in structured cabling and data centre environments. With LC connectors on both ends and a 5 metre length, this cable supports applications that require low loss, consistent signal integrity and reliable full-duplex communication over short to medium distances.

Advantages

This OM3 multimode cable provides improved bandwidth for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and is compatible with a broad range of multimode transceivers. The LC/LC connector configuration reduces connector footprint in high-density panels and patch panels while ensuring stable optical connection. The 50 µm core combined with OM3 performance characteristics maintains modal bandwidth and reduces attenuation across commonly used wavelengths for enterprise networking.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• 10 Gigabit Ethernet links within data centres and server rooms
• Patch cabling between switches, transceivers and optical patch panels
• High-bandwidth storage area networks (SAN) and virtualization infrastructures
• Short- to medium-range multimode optical connections in campus networks

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM3 multimode, 50 µm core diameter
• Connector type: LC to LC, duplex
• Length: 5 metres
• Transmission mode: Full duplex
• Typical use wavelengths: 850 nm and 1300 nm
• Suitable for 10 GBASE-SR and similar short-range multimode transceivers

How to use

Inspect connectors and cable jacket for visible damage before installation. Route the cable with gentle bends, keeping bend radius greater than the manufacturer’s recommended minimum to avoid microbending losses. Insert LC connectors into compatible LC ports until they click to secure the connection. For duplex links ensure correct polarity alignment between transmit and receive ports. Avoid placing the cable near strong electromagnetic interference sources; while optical fibre is immune to EMI, connected equipment may be affected.

Recommendations

For best performance, use OM3 fibre with compatible multimode transceivers and patch panels rated for 10 Gigabit links, maintain clean connector endfaces by using appropriate cleaning tools, and verify link integrity with an optical tester after installation.
