Καλώδιο οπτικών ινών Helos 1m OM4 SC/ST

The Helos 1m OM4 SC/ST fibre optic cable is a 1 metre multimode link designed for reliable short-range high-speed data transmission. It features a 50 µm core diameter OM4 fibre optimized for increased bandwidth at short wavelengths and supports full duplex communication through two separate fibres. One end is terminated with an SC connector and the other with a dual ST connector, allowing flexible interfacing between equipment with SC and ST ports in server rooms, network racks, and telecommunication cabinets.

Advantages

This OM4 cable provides enhanced modal bandwidth compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, supporting higher data rates over typical enterprise distances. The SC and dual ST terminations offer broad compatibility with common networking hardware while minimising connection loss through precision-polished ferrules. Its 1 metre length reduces excess slack in dense installations and helps maintain orderly cable management in racks and patch panels.

Suitable for

• Interconnecting switches, patch panels and transceivers in data centres and wiring closets
• Short-range multimode links for 10GbE, 25GbE and other high-speed network applications where OM4 is specified
• Connecting equipment with SC ports to devices using ST interfaces
• Laboratory and test setups requiring a reliable short jumper cable

Key specifications

• Fibre type: Multimode OM4
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector A: SC (single)
• Connector B: Dual ST
• Mode: Full duplex (two fibres)
• Length: 1 metre
• Typical applications: Short-range high-speed networking

How to use

Confirm that both ends of the link are compatible with the equipment ports (SC and ST). Align the connectors with the corresponding ports and insert them until they click or seat securely; ST connectors require a slight twist-and-lock motion if fitted with bayonet sleeves. Ensure proper polarity for transmit/receive pairs to maintain full duplex operation. Route the cable with gentle bends, avoiding tight radii, sharp kinks or excessive pulling force. For best performance, keep the fibre endfaces clean and protected prior to mating and use a fibre inspection tool if available.

Recommendations

Store unused cable ends with protective caps installed, avoid bending below the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius, and perform endface cleaning before each connection to minimise insertion loss and reflections in OM4 multimode links.
