Καλώδιο οπτικών ινών duplex InLine SC/ST 50/125µm OM3 0,5 m

The InLine Fiber Optical Duplex Cable SC/ST 50/125µm OM3 0.5m is a short-length multimode fiber patch cable designed to connect devices with SC and ST interfaces. With a 50 µm core and OM3 grade glass, this duplex cable supports full-duplex communication and is intended for high-speed data transmission over short to moderate distances within local networks, server rooms, and telecommunications racks.

Advantages

This duplex cable combines SC and ST connector types to provide compatibility between different fiber transceiver ports. The OM3 multimode specification reduces modal dispersion and enables higher bandwidth for short-range links. The 50/125 µm core/cladding geometry is a common industry standard for multimode networking, and the short 0.5 m length minimizes excess cable management and insertion loss in patching scenarios.

Suitable for

• Patch connections in server rooms and data cabinets
• Connecting network switches, transceivers and media converters with SC and ST ports
• Short-range optical links in structured cabling systems
• Testing and temporary link setups in lab environments

Key specifications

• Fiber type: Multimode OM3
• Core/cladding diameter: 50/125 µm
• Connector configuration: Duplex (one SC connector, one ST connector per end to enable SC↔ST connection)
• Length: 0.5 m
• Polishing/finish: Factory-terminated polished ends suitable for multimode links
• Typical insertion loss: low for short-distance multimode patching (factory-terminated)

How to use

Identify the SC and ST ports on the devices to be connected, ensuring both endpoints support multimode OM3 fiber. Align and insert the SC connector into the SC socket until it clicks, and plug the ST connector into the ST socket using the bayonet-style twist to lock. Ensure both connectors are clean before making the connection to avoid increased attenuation. Route the cable to prevent tight bends and avoid mechanical stress near the connectors.

Recommendations

Use this 0.5 m duplex cable for short patch runs; always inspect and, if necessary, clean connector endfaces with approved fiber cleaning tools prior to mating. Maintain a minimum bend radius consistent with multimode fiber specifications and avoid kinking. For critical or extended-distance links, verify compatibility with transceiver and switch specifications and consider using OM4 or singlemode fiber where appropriate.
