The BlueOptics SFP5141GU2MKB MPO 4x LC OM5 2 m Lime is a 2-metre multimode fibre optic cable designed to support high-bandwidth data transmission in modern network infrastructures. One end terminates in an MPO connector while the opposite end breaks out to four LC connectors, enabling compact trunk-to-device connections or MPO panel to LC port distribution. The OM5 fibre specification supports wider wavelength operations and improved performance for short- to medium-range links, and the lime sheath provides visual identification in dense cabling environments.

Advantages

This fibre cable offers a compact MPO-to-LC breakout design that reduces installation complexity when connecting multi-fibre transceivers to standard LC ports. Its OM5 multimode construction is engineered for enhanced bandwidth and supports wavelength division techniques for optimized data throughput. The 2 m length is suitable for patching within racks or between adjacent networking equipment, and the robust outer jacket improves durability in common data center and telecommunications settings.

Suitable for

• Connecting MPO-equipped transceivers or patch panels to devices with LC ports
• Short-range data center patching between racks and equipment
• High-density fibre installations where colour-coded cabling aids identification
• Environments requiring OM5 multimode performance for wavelength-division applications

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM5 multimode
• Connector A: MPO multi-fibre connector
• Connector B: 4 × LC duplex connectors
• Length: 2 metres
• Cable colour: Lime
• Application: Trunk-to-patch or patch-to-device connections in data centres and telecom rooms

How to use

Route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical stress, keeping the minimum bend radius recommended for multimode fibre. Plug the MPO connector into the MPO port of the transceiver or patch panel, ensuring correct keying and alignment, and insert each LC connector into the corresponding LC port. Verify secure seating of connectors and, where available, use port labels or the cable colour to confirm proper connections. After installation, test the link with appropriate optical test equipment to confirm signal integrity and attenuation levels.

Recommendations

Handle connectors by their housings, keep protective dust caps on until final connection, and avoid exposing the fibre ends to contaminants. For best performance, maintain bend radii, secure the cable to prevent strain, and perform acceptance testing after installation. Use the lime colour to simplify cable management in crowded panels and to distinguish OM5 multimode links from other fibre types.
