The BlueOptics SFP3131GU15MK LC OM5 15 m Green is a 15-metre multimode fibre optic patch cable engineered for data transmission in modern network environments. With LC connectors on both ends and an OM5-grade 50 µm core, the cable supports high-bandwidth short-range links and is suitable for use in data centres, server rooms and enterprise cabling. The green jacket identifies the OM5 specification and facilitates easy visual management of fibre runs.

Advantages

This fibre optic cable offers low insertion loss and consistent modal bandwidth due to its 50 µm multimode core and OM5 specification, enabling reliable link performance over short enterprise distances. The LC connectors provide a compact, industry-standard interface that is compatible with a wide range of transceivers and patch panels. The pre-terminated 15 m length simplifies installation and reduces the need for on-site termination tools.

How to use

Connect each LC connector to the corresponding LC port on the network devices or patch panels, ensuring proper alignment and a secure push-pull engagement. Route the cable along existing cable trays or management channels to avoid sharp bends and maintain the cable's minimum bend radius. Before placing the link into production, verify connection quality with an optical power meter or by running network diagnostics to confirm acceptable loss and signal integrity.

Recommendations

Store and handle the fibre optic cable with care to prevent contamination of connector endfaces; use dust caps when connectors are not in use and clean endfaces with appropriate fibre cleaning tools. Avoid tight bends and tension on the cable during installation, and follow manufacturer guidelines for minimum bend radius to preserve performance.
