The BlueOptics CAB-OM3-SC-LC-5M-BO Aqua is a 5 m OM3 multimode fibre optic patch cable with LC/UPC on one end and SC/UPC on the other. Designed for full duplex transmission, the cable supports high-speed network links and short to medium distance multimode connections. The aqua-coloured LSZH jacket provides a clear visual identification while reducing halogen release and smoke in case of fire.

Advantages

This OM3 patch cable delivers low attenuation and high return loss for reliable signal integrity. It uses laser-optimized multimode fibre and ceramic ferrules for consistent mating performance and long connector life. The LSZH sheathing meets common fire-safety norms and is suitable for use in equipment rooms and structured cabling where reduced smoke and toxic emissions are required. Each cable is factory-tested with interferometry and OTDR, and shipped with measured input loss and return loss values.

How to use

Route the cable between the LC and SC ports required, taking care to avoid sharp bends and excessive tensile stress. Plug the LC connector into the transceiver or LC port and the SC connector into the patch panel or SC port until they click securely. Verify link status on the connected equipment and, if necessary, consult the included test protocol to confirm input loss and return loss values. Store unused cable coiled with a gentle radius to maintain fibre performance.

Recommendations

Avoid bending the cable beyond the manufacturer's minimum bend radius and prevent contamination of connector endfaces. Clean connectors with appropriate fibre cleaning tools before mating and use dust caps when connectors are not in use. For critical links, retain the provided test report and consider periodic re-testing after installation.
