ShiverPeaks speaker cable model 06-1810011 is a 100 m reel of 2 x 1.5 mm² conductor cable designed for connecting loudspeakers and audio systems. The cable uses copper-clad aluminium (CCA) conductors and a transparent jacket, offering a practical solution for low-voltage audio connections in homes, studios, or commercial installations. Its conductor size balances current carrying capacity and flexibility for medium-length runs, simplifying speaker wiring and installation.

Advantages

The cable combines dual-conductor 1.5 mm² cross-section with a 100 m reel length to cover multiple speaker runs without frequent joins. Copper-clad aluminium conductors reduce weight and cost compared with pure copper while maintaining acceptable conductivity for standard audio applications. The transparent outer jacket allows visual inspection of the conductors and polarity markings, and the construction supports straightforward termination with common speaker connectors.

Suitable for

• Home audio speaker wiring
• Studio monitoring and nearfield speaker connections
• Commercial audio installations with moderate cable runs
• Temporary event audio setups

How to use

Measure the required cable length between amplifier and speaker, cut the reel to size and strip the jacket and conductor insulation carefully to expose the strands. Observe polarity markings when connecting positive and negative terminals to avoid phase inversion. Terminate the conductors with banana plugs, spade lugs, or bare-wire connections compatible with the speaker and amplifier binding posts. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends, heat sources and prolonged exposure to mechanical stress.

Recommendations

For longer runs or high-power systems consider using larger pure copper conductors; for typical home and studio speaker distances the 2 x 1.5 mm² CCA cable provides an economical and practical connection. Ensure secure terminations and avoid running speaker cable in parallel with mains wiring to reduce interference.
