INSYS antenna extension cable, 5 m length with SMA male-to-female SMA connectors (SMA–SMA). This single-piece cable is designed to extend antenna placement for wireless devices and radio equipment where the original cable is too short or antenna repositioning is required. The cable is finished in black and weighs approximately 230 g. It supports simple extension of existing SMA-terminated antennas without additional adapters when both ends use SMA connectors.

Advantages

The INSYS 5 m SMA to SMA extension cable provides a straightforward and reliable way to relocate antennas for improved signal reception. Its single-piece design reduces connection points and potential signal loss compared with multiple short patch cables. The SMA male-to-female termination ensures compatibility with many consumer and industrial wireless devices and radio modules that use standard SMA connectors. The cable's length allows flexible placement of external antennas at a distance from the connected device.

How to use

Connect the SMA male end of the extension cable to the SMA female connector on the antenna or device, and attach the SMA female end to the corresponding SMA male connector on the other component. Ensure connectors are mated gently and tightened by hand to a firm fit; do not overtighten with tools to avoid damaging connector threads. Route the cable to the desired antenna position, avoiding sharp bends, kinks and sources of mechanical stress. Keep the cable clear of heat sources and sharp edges to maintain signal quality and cable integrity.

Recommendations

For best performance, minimize the number of additional connectors and use a single continuous extension like this INSYS 5 m SMA to SMA cable. When installing outdoors or in humid environments, protect connectors with appropriate sealing or weatherproofing to prevent corrosion. Verify that both connected devices use standard SMA interfaces to ensure compatibility.
