The InLine Fiber Optical Duplex Cable SC/SC 50/125µm OM4 0.5m is a short-run duplex patch cable designed for optical network connections requiring SC connectors on both ends. It uses multimode OM4 fiber with a 50/125 µm core/cladding diameter to support high-bandwidth, short- to medium-distance data transmission in structured cabling, server rooms and telecom racks. The compact 0.5 m length is suitable for patching between adjacent ports and minimizing excess cable in dense installations.

Advantages

This SC/SC duplex cable offers stable full-duplex data transmission with low attenuation typical for OM4 multimode fiber. The standardized SC connectors provide simple push-pull mating and reliable mechanical performance. OM4 fiber delivers improved modal bandwidth for higher-speed Ethernet links and better performance over legacy OM3 at equivalent distances. The short length reduces clutter and signal loss compared with longer patch leads.

Key specifications

• Fiber type: OM4 multimode
• Core/cladding diameter: 50/125 µm
• Connector type: SC to SC duplex
• Length: 0.5 m
• Mode: Duplex (full duplex)
• Typical applications: High-bandwidth multimode links, patch panels, transceiver connections

How to use

Connect each SC connector to the corresponding SC port on networking devices or patch panels, ensuring correct orientation and full insertion until the connector latches. Use the duplex cable to maintain separate transmit and receive fiber paths and avoid bending the cable below recommended minimum bend radius to prevent increased attenuation. For best performance, keep connectors clean and protected from dust using dust caps when not connected.

Recommendations

Store and route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain; clean connectors with appropriate fiber cleaning tools before mating; verify link performance after installation using appropriate test equipment or transceiver diagnostics for the intended data rate.
