The EFB Elektronik K8580GR.20 RJ-45 Cat6a 20 m Grey is a shielded Ethernet cable designed for high-speed wired networks. Built to Cat6a specifications with S/FTP shielding and gold-plated RJ-45 connectors, this 20-metre grey cable supports data transmission rates up to 10000 Mbit/s and provides improved resistance to electromagnetic interference for stable connections in home, office, or data-center environments.

Advantages

The S/FTP shielding construction reduces crosstalk and external electromagnetic interference, improving signal integrity over longer distances. Gold-plated RJ-45 connectors offer enhanced corrosion resistance and consistent contact performance. The Cat6a standard ensures compatibility with 10 Gigabit Ethernet links while maintaining backward compatibility with earlier Ethernet generations. The 20 m length allows flexible placement of devices without relying on wireless links.

Key specifications

• Standard: Cat6a
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall foil with individually shielded twisted pairs)
• Maximum data rate: up to 10000 Mbit/s
• Connector type: RJ-45 to RJ-45, gold-plated contacts
• Length: 20 m
• Color: Grey

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 end to your network device (switch, router, or network card) and the other end to the corresponding port of the second device. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and keep it separated from power lines or strong EMI sources to preserve signal quality. For permanent installations in racks or conduits, secure the cable with appropriate cable management accessories.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this Cat6a S/FTP cable for 10 Gigabit Ethernet links where reduced interference and reliable throughput are required. Avoid running the cable parallel to high-voltage power lines and observe a minimum bend radius when installing. Periodically inspect connectors for dust or damage and replace the cable if physical insulation is compromised.
