The EFB Elektronik K5538SW.5 RJ-45 Cat6a 5m Black is a networking cable designed for reliable, high-speed wired connections. With Cat6a specification and S/FTP shielding, the cable supports demanding data transmission scenarios and reduces electromagnetic interference. Gold-plated contacts and standard RJ-45 connectors provide stable physical contact and compatibility with network devices. The 5 m length and black jacket make the cable suitable for office, home, and rack-mounted installations where a discreet appearance and consistent performance are required.

Advantages

S/FTP shielding combines an overall shield with individually screened pairs to minimize crosstalk and external interference, improving signal integrity over longer distances. The Cat6a standard supports higher bandwidths and improved performance compared with earlier categories, making the cable suitable for gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet links within specified distances. Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and maintain low contact resistance for stable connections. The cable's flexible jacket and standard RJ-45 terminations ensure easy routing and compatibility with common network equipment.

Suitable for

• Wired Ethernet connections for desktop computers and workstations
• Connecting switches, routers and patch panels in office networks
• Home networking for streaming, online gaming and smart devices
• Short runs in server cabinets and network racks

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat6a
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall shield with individually screened pairs)
• Connectors: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Contact plating: Gold-plated contacts
• Length: 5 m
• Colour: Black

How to use

Identify the network devices to be connected and ensure both ports support the intended Ethernet speed. Route the cable avoiding sharp bends and sources of strong electromagnetic interference such as large motors or unshielded power cables. Insert the RJ-45 plugs fully into the device ports until the latch clicks to ensure secure mechanical connection. For cable management, use ties or Velcro straps to group runs and prevent strain on connectors. If installing in a rack, leave a small service loop to permit movement and maintenance without stressing the cable ends.

Recommendations

Use this Cat6a S/FTP cable for in-building horizontal runs and short backbone connections where 10 Gigabit Ethernet or reduced interference is required. Avoid exposing the cable to excessive heat, moisture, or mechanical crushing; maintain bend radius recommendations typical for Cat6a cabling to preserve performance over time.
