The BlueOptics ET7402-25DAC-2M-BL QSFP28 4xSFP28 InfiniBand 2m Black is a passive direct attach cable engineered for short-reach, high-bandwidth data links in data centre and networking environments. At 2 meters length it connects a QSFP28 port to four SFP28 ports, enabling aggregation or breakout of a 100Gb/s QSFP28 link into four independent 25Gb/s SFP28 channels. The cable uses a male-to-male connector configuration, a black jacket for unobtrusive routing, and a compact design that simplifies rack and switch interconnects while delivering predictable electrical performance.

Advantages

This BlueOptics breakout cable provides native QSFP28-to-4xSFP28 compatibility for InfiniBand and Ethernet deployments, reducing the need for additional transceivers and adapters. Its fixed 2 m length limits signal attenuation and keeps latency low while offering mechanical robustness and reliable connector seating. The black outer jacket improves cable management visibility in dense cabling runs and the lightweight construction supports easy installation and reconfiguration.

Suitable for

• Breaking out a 100Gb/s QSFP28 port into four 25Gb/s SFP28 links
• Short-reach interconnects between switches, routers, and servers in racks
• InfiniBand clusters and high-performance computing network topologies
• Data centre aggregation and top-of-rack switch connections

Key specifications

• Cable length: 2 m
• Connector 1: QSFP28 (male)
• Connector 2: 4x SFP28 (male)
• Supported protocol: InfiniBand and 25/100GbE-compatible electrical interface
• Product colour: Black
• Weight: 0.25 kg

How to use

Install the BlueOptics ET7402-25DAC-2M-BL by inserting the QSFP28 end into the host QSFP28 port and the four SFP28 ends into the respective SFP28 ports on the target devices. Ensure each connector is fully engaged and the latch mechanisms click into place. Confirm link status on connected devices and check system LEDs or management interfaces to verify the lanes are enumerated as four separate 25Gb/s links where supported. Avoid sharp bends and excessive force when routing the cable inside racks.

Recommendations

Use this cable for short-distance connections within the same rack or adjacent racks to maintain signal integrity. Keep bend radius within manufacturer guidelines, avoid kinking, and route away from heavy power cables to reduce potential interference. Verify compatibility with device firmware that supports QSFP28-to-SFP28 breakout mode before deployment.
