Irix Edge Φίλτρο φωτορύπανσης SR 82mm

Night photographers capturing starscapes over city skylines often struggle with the orange glow of sodium and mercury vapor lamps washing out the sky. The Irix Edge Light Pollution Filter SR 82mm tackles this by selectively blocking those artificial wavelengths, restoring natural darkness and letting nebulae and constellations stand out with crisp contrast.

Key specifications

• Filter type: Light pollution (LP) suppression
• Diameter: 82 mm
• Glass: High-quality optical glass with multi-layer anti-reflective coating
• Super Resistant (SR) coating: Hydrophobic, oleophobic, and scratch-resistant
• Frame: Ultra-slim aluminum alloy, black anodized
• Thread size: 82 mm
• Color neutrality: High, minimal color shift
• Primary use: Astrophotography, night cityscapes

Why choose it

The SR coating repels water, oil, and dust, making cleaning effortless even in humid or coastal environments. Its ultra-slim profile prevents vignetting on wide-angle lenses, and the multi-layer coating preserves sharpness while boosting contrast in the night sky.

Ideal use cases

• Astrophotography: Milky Way, star trails, deep-sky objects from suburban areas
• Night cityscapes: Reducing the yellow cast from streetlights for cleaner, more natural colors
• Long-exposure urban scenes: Enhancing clarity of the sky without affecting foreground illumination

Good to know

The filter threads directly onto lenses with an 82 mm filter thread. It is not designed for use with lenses that have a different thread size without a step-up ring. Always store in the provided protective case to maintain the coating integrity.
