The InLine DC extension cable 5.5x2.5mm AWG 18 white 2m is a 2‑metre white extension lead with male and female 5.5 x 2.5 mm DC connectors. Built with AWG 18 conductors, it is designed to extend low-voltage DC power lines and is compatible with devices that accept a 5.5 x 2.5 mm barrel plug. The cable supports a 12 V input voltage and an input current up to 11.6 A.

Advantages

The cable provides a straightforward way to extend existing DC power connections without changing adapters or power supplies. AWG 18 wiring ensures adequate current carrying capacity for medium-power applications, while the standardized 5.5 x 2.5 mm connectors guarantee compatibility with many consumer and professional DC devices. Its white jacket offers a discreet appearance for installations where color matching matters.

Suitable for

• Extending DC power to CCTV cameras and surveillance equipment
• Powering routers, modems and network devices with 5.5 x 2.5 mm plugs
• Connecting LED drivers and lighting systems that use 12 V DC
• Temporary or permanent extension of power for audio/video gear

How to use

Insert the male 5.5 x 2.5 mm plug of the extension cable into the DC output of your power supply or adapter. Connect the female 5.5 x 2.5 mm socket to the device’s DC input plug. Ensure polarity matches and that the power supply is rated for 12 V and the device’s current requirements do not exceed 11.6 A. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain.

Recommendations

Use this extension for low-voltage DC applications only. Verify connector polarity before powering devices and avoid exceeding the specified 11.6 A rating. For permanently installed or outdoor setups, consider additional strain relief or protective conduit to protect the cable and connectors.
