HUAWEI eKit AC600 Series AC650-128AP Gateway/Controller 10 100 1000 Mbit/s

The HUAWEI eKit AC600 Series AC650-128AP is a compact gateway and wireless access controller designed for small office and SOHO environments. It manages up to 128 access points and integrates a Gigabit Ethernet switch function to provide unified wired and wireless access. The device supports 10/100/1000 Mbit/s Ethernet and a forwarding rate of 10000 Mpps, while its small form factor (250 mm × 210 mm × 43.6 mm) and 12 V power input make it suitable for confined installation spaces with moderate power requirements.

Advantages

The AC650-128AP offers integrated management of wired and wireless networks in a single box, reducing the need for separate switch and controller devices. Its support for up to 128 APs provides scalability for growing small and medium deployments. With Gigabit Ethernet ports and a high forwarding rate, the unit delivers sufficient throughput for typical office and campus scenarios while maintaining a low maximum power consumption of 21 W.

Suitable for

• Small and medium campus networks
• Enterprise office networks and SOHO deployments
• Wireless metropolitan area networks (MANs) and hotspot coverage
• Environments requiring unified wired and wireless access management

Key specifications

• Managed access points: up to 128 APs

How to use

Install the AC650-128AP in a well-ventilated location and connect it to the local network via its Gigabit Ethernet ports. Power the unit with a compatible 12 V supply consistent with the device's requirements. Use the HUAWEI management interface to add and configure access points, define SSIDs, security policies and VLANs, and monitor client connections and traffic. Follow standard network design practices when assigning IP addresses, routing, and firewall rules to integrate the controller into an existing network topology.

Recommendations

Place the unit near core network infrastructure to minimize cable lengths and latency between the controller and managed APs. For deployments approaching the upper management limit, plan capacity for backhaul bandwidth and monitoring, and perform periodic firmware updates and backups of configuration to maintain stability and security.
