Εξωτερικός SAS HBA HP Enterprise RP000119576 8-Port

External SAS HBA HP Enterprise RP000119576 8-port is an external host bus adapter designed to connect servers to SAS storage devices via eight external ports. It provides dedicated connectivity for enterprise storage arrays and JBOD enclosures, supporting multi-device attachment and reducing cabling complexity in data center environments. The adapter is intended for deployment in systems that require robust, external SAS links for high-availability storage configurations.

Advantages

This external SAS HBA offers eight external ports for flexible connection topologies and simplifies storage expansion by enabling direct links to multiple enclosures. The design emphasizes reliable host-to-storage communication with standard SAS signaling and compatibility with SAS drives and enclosures. With external ports, maintenance and reconfiguration of storage racks can be performed without powering down host servers, facilitating operational continuity.

Suitable for

• Connecting servers to external SAS storage arrays and JBOD enclosures
• Data center storage expansion and consolidation projects
• High-availability and clustered server environments requiring external SAS links
• Environments needing simplified cabling between hosts and multiple storage devices

Key specifications

• Interface: External SAS host bus adapter with eight external ports
• Port type: External SAS connectors for connecting to SAS cables and expanders
• Connectivity: Supports multi-device attachment and direct external connections to storage enclosures
• Form factor: Standard add-in card for server host installation (external-facing ports)
• Use case: Designed for enterprise and data center external storage connectivity

How to use

Install the adapter into a compatible server expansion slot following the server manufacturer’s installation procedures. Connect SAS-compatible external cables from the adapter’s external ports to SAS expanders, enclosures or storage arrays. Configure the host operating system or RAID/storage management software to recognize the connected devices and set up any required multipath or zoning policies. Ensure firmware and driver versions on the host are compatible with the adapter for stable operation.

Recommendations

Use certified SAS cables and compatible enclosures; follow proper cable length and topology guidelines to maintain signal integrity. Verify firmware and driver updates from the server or adapter vendor to ensure interoperability. For critical systems, implement multipath I/O and redundancy at the enclosure level to minimize single points of failure.
