HPE 300GB 10K RPM 2,5 inch SAS Hot-Plug σκληρός δίσκος (493083-001)

When a ProLiant server in a busy data center needs a reliable, high-performance boot drive or a fast storage tier for transactional workloads, this HPE 300GB 10K SAS hard drive steps in. It fits directly into 2.5-inch SFF hot-plug bays across G6, G7, G8, and G9 generations, delivering consistent 6Gb/s SAS throughput without adding complexity.

Key specifications

• Capacity: 300 GB
• Interface: SAS 6Gb/s (Serial Attached SCSI)
• Spindle speed: 10,000 RPM
• Form factor: 2.5-inch SFF (Small Form Factor)
• Hot-plug: Yes, with HPE SmartDrive carrier
• Buffer size: 64 MB
• Average latency: 2.99 ms
• Average seek time: 3.7 ms read / 4.1 ms write
• Bytes per sector: 512n (native)
• MTBF: 1.6 million hours
• Power consumption: 6.5 W idle / 9.5 W active

Why choose it

This drive balances speed and capacity for enterprise workloads. The 10K RPM spindle reduces latency compared to 7.2K drives, while the 6Gb/s SAS interface doubles the bandwidth of older 3Gb/s models. HPE's SmartDrive carrier simplifies hot-swap operations, and the 1.6 million hour MTBF reflects a design built for 24/7 operation. It is fully compatible with ProLiant G6 through G9 servers, making it a straightforward upgrade or replacement part.

Ideal use cases

• Boot drives for ProLiant servers in SMB and enterprise environments
• High-availability database and email servers requiring low latency
• Virtualization hosts running a moderate number of VMs
• Hot-swap storage expansion in existing SAS backplanes

Good to know

This is a bare drive with an HPE SmartDrive carrier; no cables or screws are included. It operates in standard data center temperature and humidity ranges. For best performance, pair it with a 6Gb/s SAS controller—it will also work in 3Gb/s SAS backplanes at reduced speed. The drive is formatted with 512-byte native sectors, which is compatible with all mainstream operating systems and hypervisors.
