HAMA 00021160 Polyester Monochromatic Black 2940×6000 mm is a large-format photographic backdrop made from durable polyester. The smooth, non-reflective surface and substantial width and depth create a seamless black background suitable for studio and on-location photography. The fabric is designed to minimise reflections and visible seams, providing a consistent base for portraits, product shots, video recordings and creative shoots that require a neutral, dark background.

Advantages

This polyester backdrop offers a heavy-weight fabric with low wrinkle tendency and a non-reflective finish that helps control light and avoid hotspots. The material is robust and resilient for repeated use, and the construction includes a tunnel for background poles so it can be mounted quickly on standard support systems. Its monochromatic black colour provides reliable contrast and depth without centre stitching, making it suitable when a continuous, uninterrupted background is required.

Suitable for

• Portrait photography in studio or at home
• Product photography and e-commerce images
• Video recording, interviews and streaming
• On-location shoots, mobile studios for bloggers and vloggers
• Animal and nude photography requiring even, dark backgrounds

Key specifications

• Material: 100% polyester
• Colour: Monochromatic black
• Dimensions: 2940 mm width × 6000 mm depth
• Fabric weight: approx. 250 gsm
• Surface: non-reflective, low-wrinkle

How to use

Attach the backdrop to a compatible support system using the integrated tunnel for background poles, or drape the fabric over furniture or fixtures for on-location setups. Smooth out minor wrinkles by laying the fabric flat or using gentle steaming at a safe distance, taking care not to overheat the polyester. Position lights and modifiers to control falloff and avoid direct reflections; adjust camera distance and focal length to achieve the desired framing and background compression.

Recommendations

For best results, mount the backdrop on a dedicated stand or crossbar to keep the surface taut and wrinkle-free. Use soft, diffused lighting to maintain an even black appearance and prevent specular highlights. When transporting, fold or roll the fabric to reduce creasing, and store in a dry, cool place to preserve its non-reflective properties.
