The LEICA DG ELMARIT 50-200mm F2.8-4.0 (Panasonic H-ES50200E9) is a telephoto zoom lens developed for LUMIX G Series cameras. It features a 50–200mm focal range, a variable maximum aperture of F2.8–4.0 and a construction of 21 elements in 15 groups, including 2 UED elements. The lens offers a closest focusing distance of 0.75 m and a maximum magnification of 0.5x, and incorporates Nano Surface Coating and POWER O.I.S. to deliver high optical performance with reduced flare and stabilized images.

Advantages

The LEICA DG optics provide edge-to-edge sharpness and controlled distortion for precise rendering. POWER O.I.S. compensates for camera shake and helps capture clear, blur-free images without a tripod. Nano Surface Coating reduces ghosting and flare across the light spectrum. The lens construction (21 elements in 15 groups) and inclusion of UED elements contribute to high-resolution imaging and consistent performance throughout the zoom range.

Suitable for

• Telephoto photography of sports and wildlife
• Portraits at longer focal lengths
• Event and reportage work where reach and image stabilization are needed
• Video recording with LUMIX G Series cameras

Use the zoom ring to set the desired focal length between 50 and 200 mm and adjust the focus ring or switch to autofocus as required. When shooting handheld in low light or at long focal lengths, enable POWER O.I.S. on the lens or camera to reduce blur. Clean the front element and apply or remove filters via the 67 mm filter thread as needed.

Recommendations

For best results, combine the lens with a camera body that supports in-body or lens stabilization and use high shutter speeds for fast action. Store the lens in a padded case, and use the Nano Surface Coating-friendly cleaning materials to avoid damage to optical surfaces.
