Διακομιστής αποθήκευσης Synology HD6500 Rack 4U Intel Xeon Silver 4210R 64GB DDR4

The Synology HD6500 is a 4U rackmount storage server designed for large-scale warm and cold storage deployments. With support for up to 60 drive bays in a single enclosure and expandability to 300 drives, it suits full system backups, video post-production archives, and large surveillance installations. The system is powered by an Intel Xeon Silver 4210R processor and comes with 64 GB DDR4 memory, providing the processing and memory resources required for enterprise storage tasks.

Advantages

The HD6500 delivers high-density storage in a 4U chassis with scalable capacity through up to four RX6022sas expansion units, enabling up to five times the base capacity. Redundant SAS links and dual power supplies increase reliability and reduce single points of failure. Built-in networking includes three Gigabit Ethernet ports and two 10GbE RJ-45 ports, while four expansion slots allow adding 10GbE, 25GbE, or Fibre Channel modules for varied connectivity. Out-of-band (OOB) management simplifies troubleshooting and remote access to logs.

Suitable for

• Large-scale archival and cold storage
• Central backup server for many PCs, servers, and hypervisors
• Primary storage for extensive surveillance deployments
• Massive file server and cross-site synchronization

How to use

Install the HD6500 into a standard 19-inch rack with sufficient cooling and power distribution. Populate drive bays with supported HDDs or SSDs and configure RAID according to your redundancy and performance requirements. Connect network interfaces to your infrastructure and, if needed, add expansion network cards in the four available slots. Use Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) to create shared folders, set up backups, manage surveillance storage, and configure networking features such as link aggregation and multipath SAS where applicable.

Recommendations

For high availability, deploy redundant power feeds and enable redundant SAS links between the HD6500 and expansion units. Use enterprise-class HDDs or SSDs suitable for archival or surveillance workloads and schedule regular integrity checks and backups. Leverage DSM tools for centralized management and monitoring of large deployments.
