Chieftec CMR-225 Laufwerkträgerblende Τραβέρσα Μαύρο

The Chieftec CMR-225 carrier panel converts a single 3.5" external bay into space for two 2.5" SATA drives (HDD or SSD) with heights from 7 mm to 9.5 mm. Constructed from metal and finished in black, the tray includes SATA cables for power and data connection. Power is supplied via the SATA interface and drive trays are detachable to simplify installation. The unit supports hot-swap operation and provides LEDs for power and drive activity. A lockable design and included key add physical security for installed drives.

Advantages

The CMR-225 offers a compact solution to add two 2.5" drives using a single 3.5" bay while maintaining full SATA I/II/III compatibility. Detachable trays and plug-and-play connectivity reduce installation time, and hot-swap support enables drive replacement without powering down the system. The all-metal, lockable construction increases durability and physical protection for stored data.

Suitable for

• Expanding laptop-style 2.5" HDD/SSD capacity in desktop PCs
• Systems requiring hot-swappable storage
• Backup storage and RAID testing in workstations or servers
• Environments where physical drive security is needed

Key specifications

• Model: CHIEFTEC CMR-225
• Fits: 2 x 2.5" HDD/SSD (height 7–9.5 mm)
• Host bay: 1 x 3.5" external
• Interface: SATA (supports SATA I/II/III)
• Material: Metal
• Colour: Black
• Weight: 0.394 kg

How to use

Install the CMR-225 into an available 3.5" external bay, connect the included SATA data and power cables to the motherboard and power supply, then mount 2.5" drives into the detachable trays and slide them into the carrier until they lock. The device is plug-and-play; the system should detect drives automatically. Use the lock to secure drives physically when required.

Recommendations

Use drives within the specified height (7–9.5 mm) and ensure SATA connections are secure before powering the system. For critical data, maintain regular backups and consider using RAID or additional backup solutions. Avoid forcing trays and keep the metal housing grounded to reduce static risk.
