InfiniBand ενεργό οπτικό καλώδιο CBO AOC-S-S-10G-5M-BO 10G 5 m

InfiniBand active optical cable CBO AOC-S-S-10G-5M-BO is a 5 metre, 10G-rated active optical link designed for short-range high-speed interconnects between switches, servers and storage devices equipped with InfiniBand ports. The cable delivers low-latency data transmission with immunity to electromagnetic interference and lower power dissipation compared with equivalent copper links, making it suitable for dense rack environments and clustered systems that require consistent 10G performance.

Advantages

This active optical cable provides predictable 10G throughput over a 5 m reach while reducing susceptibility to EMI and crosstalk typical of copper cabling. The AOC design integrates optical transceivers directly into the cable ends, eliminating the need for separate SFP modules and simplifying installation. Its reduced power consumption and lower thermal footprint help maintain efficient operation in data centre and high-density networking scenarios.

Suitable for

• Short-range interconnects between InfiniBand switches in data centres
• Server-to-switch and server-to-storage connections in clustered environments
• High-density rack deployments where EMI immunity is required
• Applications requiring low-latency 10G links, such as HPC and database clustering

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gbit/s
• Length: 5 metres
• Connector type: InfiniBand-compatible active optical connectors (factory-integrated transceivers)
• Cable type: Active optical cable (AOC)
• Performance: Low latency, EMI immunity
• Power: Lower power consumption compared with equivalent copper links

How to use

Insert each cable end into the corresponding InfiniBand port on the network devices until the connector latches securely. No separate transceiver module installation is required since the optical transceivers are integrated into the cable ends. Verify link status on connected devices and confirm negotiated 10G operation through the host or switch management interface. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and maintain the specified minimum bend radius recommended for optical assemblies.

Recommendations

Use the cable for short, fixed-length connections inside racks or between adjacent racks. Avoid repeated flexing or subjecting the cable to mechanical stress. Ensure ports on both ends support the required InfiniBand 10G signalling and monitor link statistics during initial deployment to confirm stable operation.
