BlueOptics AFBR-2CAR25Z-BO Καλώδιο οπτικών ινών InfiniBand 25 m SFP+

The BlueOptics AFBR-2CAR25Z-BO InfiniBand fibre optic cable 25 m SFP+ is a 25-meter active optical cable (AOC) with SFP+ to SFP+ male connectors designed for high-speed short-range links. Engineered to be compatible with the Avago AFBR-2CAR25Z form factor and MSA SFP+ standards, this multi-mode fibre assembly integrates transmitter and receiver modules within the cable ends to enable optical signal transmission over a 25 m distance. It is intended for use in data center and high-performance computing environments where reliable 10 Gbit/s-class connections are required between switches, routers, storage systems and network adapters.

Advantages

The cable provides a standardized SFP+ interface with integrated optical transceivers, ensuring simple plug-and-play installation and eliminating the need for separate transceiver modules. Multi-mode fibre construction and integrated transmitter/receiver modules deliver low-latency, electrically isolated optical links suitable for short-reach 10G applications up to 25 m. Compatibility with hardware that supports the Avago AFBR-2CAR25Z specification reduces interoperability issues and simplifies spare-part management in mixed-vendor infrastructures.

Suitable for

• Short-range 10 Gbit/s connections between SFP+ ports in data center switches and routers
• Interconnections between servers and storage arrays or host bus adapters
• High-performance computing clusters requiring low-latency optical links
• Patch and equipment-to-equipment links where an integrated SFP+ AOC is preferred

Key specifications

• Length: 25 meters
• Connector type: SFP+ (male) to SFP+ (male)
• Transmission medium: multi-mode fibre with integrated optical transceivers
• Supported data rate: up to 10 Gbit/s per link for short-reach protocols
• Form factor compatibility: SFP+ / MSA-compliant AOC designed to match Avago AFBR-2CAR25Z compatibility

How to use

Install by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on the devices to be linked, observing port orientation and latch mechanisms. No separate transceivers or fibre patching are required; the integrated transceiver modules enable immediate optical communication upon proper seating and device recognition. Verify device firmware and port settings to ensure the port is administratively enabled and configured for the intended protocol (Ethernet, Fibre Channel over Ethernet, or other supported protocols at up to 10 Gbit/s). For reliable operation, avoid sharp bends, excessive strain, and exposure to liquids or contaminants on connector end-faces.

Recommendations

Prior to deployment, confirm that connected hardware explicitly supports compatible AOC modules and that link settings match the intended protocol and speed. Handle connectors by the housing, keep dust caps on unused ends, and perform visual inspection or cleaning of end-faces when required. For production-critical links, test the cable in the intended environment to validate interoperability and performance.
