Ασύρματος router Mikrotik NetBox 5 5GHz 802.11ac

The Mikrotik NetBox 5 is a compact outdoor wireless router operating in the 5 GHz band and supporting IEEE 802.11a/n/ac standards. Designed as a dual-chain client device with RP-SMA antenna connectors, it delivers up to 866 Mbit/s datarate and supports 20/40/80 MHz channel widths. The unit includes a single Gigabit Ethernet LAN port with Power over Ethernet support, a weather-resistant case with a one-hand open mechanism, a cable hood to protect against moisture, and provisions for Ethernet and grounding cable exits. The package contains a PoE injector and a power supply unit, and mounting options include a pole/tower loop and a DIN rail adapter.

Advantages

The NetBox 5 provides high-speed 5 GHz connectivity with backward compatibility to earlier 802.11a/n devices, enabling a smooth upgrade path without losing client support. Its Gigabit Ethernet port and PoE support simplify installation and integration into existing networks. The weather-resistant enclosure, cable hood and grounding exit reduce environmental exposure and streamline outdoor deployments. Compact white housing and included mounting accessories make it adaptable for tower, pole or DIN rail installations.

Suitable for

• Outdoor point-to-point or point-to-multipoint client connections at 5 GHz
• Fixed wireless links where compact, weather-protected devices are required
• Upgrading legacy 5 GHz access points to 802.11ac while retaining client compatibility
• Small service provider and enterprise outdoor CPE installations

How to use

Install external antennas on the RP-SMA connectors, mount the device using the included pole/tower loop or DIN rail adapter, and route Ethernet and grounding cables through the protected bottom exit behind the door. Connect the Ethernet cable to the Gigabit LAN port and power the device via the supplied PoE injector or an appropriate PoE source. Configure wireless settings and network parameters through MikroTik RouterOS using a wired or wireless management connection. The one-hand open case facilitates maintenance and cable access while the cable hood and grounding provisions ensure safer outdoor operation.

Recommendations

For stable outdoor links, use high-quality outdoor-rated antennas matched to the 5 GHz band and ensure a clear line of sight between endpoints. Securely fasten mounting hardware and seal cable entries if necessary. When replacing legacy 5 GHz APs, verify channel planning and client compatibility to maintain service continuity. Use the included PoE injector or a compliant PoE source that meets the device power requirements.
