AS Schwabe Ενδιάμεσος διακόπτης με PRCD 230 V Μαύρο IP55 Μοντέλο 45223

The AS Schwabe Zwischenschalter mit PRCD 230 V Schwarz IP55 Modell 45223 is an inline/intermediate switch with an integrated protective residual current device (PRCD) designed for 230 V circuits. Encased in a black housing with IP55 protection, the unit combines switching functionality and residual current detection to reduce risk from earth faults in temporary power setups, outdoor tools and construction-site equipment. The compact form factor allows insertion into extension leads or fixed cable runs where additional RCD protection is required.

Advantages

The integrated PRCD provides automatic tripping on dangerous leakage currents while the inline switch enables convenient interruption of power without changing the cable layout. The IP55-rated enclosure offers protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making the device suitable for use in exposed or damp environments. Built for compatibility with standard 230 V supplies, the unit streamlines safety on site by combining two functions in one compact, robust housing.

Suitable for

When it may not be suitable

This inline switch with PRCD is intended for use on single-phase 230 V circuits; it is not suitable for three-phase or high-voltage installations. It is not a substitute for fixed residual-current protection installed in electrical distribution boards for permanent building electrics. For indoor applications that require a flush-mounted or purely aesthetic switch, the rugged IP55 housing may be unnecessarily robust.

Key specifications

How to use

Install the device by cutting the cable at the desired inline point, inserting the conductors into the terminal connections and securing them according to the manufacturer's wiring instructions. Ensure the unit is closed and sealed before use to maintain IP55 protection. Connect to a single-phase 230 V supply and test the PRCD function using the test button after installation and periodically during use. Operate the switch to interrupt power to downstream equipment as required.

What to consider before purchase

Recommendations

Test the PRCD regularly using its built-in test button before each work period or at least weekly in professional environments. Keep the enclosure closed during operation and avoid submersion; while IP55 resists water jets, it is not designed for immersion. Replace the device if it shows signs of damage, heavy wear or if the test or trip functions fail.
