PNY High Performance Reader 3.0 is a multi-format card reader in black that connects via USB 3.2 Gen 1 (also referenced as 3.1 Gen 1) for fast transfers between memory cards and a computer. It supports a wide range of cards including SD, microSD, SDHC, SDXC, CompactFlash (UDMA 7) and various Memory Stick and MMC formats. The reader is supplied with both a USB 3.0 external cable and a retractable USB 2.0 cable and includes an activity LED.

Advantages

The device provides significantly faster transfer speeds than USB 2.0 readers, enabling rapid movement of large photo libraries and Full HD video files. It is backward compatible with USB 2.0 hosts and accommodates many card formats, reducing the need for multiple adapters. An activity LED gives a visual indicator during data transfer.

Suitable for

• Photographers transferring large batches of images
• Videographers moving Full HD video files
• Users who work with multiple card types (SD, microSD, CF, Memory Stick, MMC)
• Office or home users needing faster backups from memory cards

Key specifications

• Interface: USB 3.2 Gen 1 (3.1 Gen 1 / USB 3.0) with USB 2.0 backward compatibility
• Maximum data transfer rate: up to 600 MB/s (approximately 4800–5000 Mbit/s as specified by interface)
• Supported card formats: SD, miniSD, microSD, SDHC, SDXC, CompactFlash (UDMA 7), MultiMediaCard variants, Memory Stick variants, xD
• Included cables: external USB 3.0 cable and retractable USB 2.0 cable
• Activity LED for transfer status
• Colour: Black

How to use

Connect the reader to a computer using the included USB 3.0 cable for optimal performance or the retractable USB 2.0 cable if needed for compatibility. Insert the appropriate memory card into the corresponding slot until it clicks into place. The activity LED will indicate when the device is powered and during data transfer. Use the computer’s file manager to copy, move, or delete files on the card. Always eject the card or safely remove the device from the operating system before unplugging to prevent data loss.

Recommendations

For best transfer speeds, connect the reader to a USB 3.0 or USB 3.2 Gen 1 port and use high-performance memory cards (e.g., SDXC or UDMA 7 CF cards). Avoid removing cards while the activity LED is on and perform safe eject procedures to protect data integrity.
