Αναγνώστης καρτών HP Keystroke Card Reader Y7C05B — διεπαφή USB, εξομοίωση keyboard wedge

HP Keystroke Card Reader Y7C05B is a compact USB card reader that delivers card data directly to a computer or POS terminal as keyboard input (keyboard wedge emulation). Designed for driverless operation, the device supports quick integration with existing systems, making it suitable where magnetic stripe or chip card data must be captured and entered into form fields or authentication dialogs without installing additional software.

Advantages

The reader provides immediate keystroke output over a standard USB connection, enabling plug-and-play use with most operating systems and applications that accept keyboard input. Its small footprint and straightforward emulation mode reduce deployment time and compatibility issues. Built for continuous use in retail or access-control environments, the device minimizes setup complexity while maintaining consistent data entry behavior across different host systems.

Suitable for

• Point-of-sale terminals that require card data entry without custom drivers
• Access control systems where card information must be entered into existing authentication fields
• Registration kiosks and self-service stations needing simple, driverless card reading
• Back-office tasks such as membership or loyalty program enrollment that use standard input forms

Key specifications

• Interface: USB keyboard emulation (plug-and-play)
• Output mode: Keystroke injection (keyboard wedge)
• Supported card types: magnetic stripe and chip card data (read for keyboard output)
• Physical size: compact form factor for desktop or terminal mounting
• Power: USB bus-powered, no external power supply required

How to use

Connect the HP Keystroke Card Reader to an available USB port on the host computer or POS terminal. The device registers as a keyboard input device; no additional drivers are required for most modern operating systems. Position the card according to the reader’s orientation and swipe or insert as applicable. Card data will be transmitted as simulated keystrokes into the active text field or application where the cursor is placed. Confirm that the target application or input field is ready to receive input before reading a card.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use with applications that accept plain keyboard input and ensure cursor focus is placed in the correct input field before presenting a card. In multi-user or secure environments, combine this reader with appropriate software-side validation and access controls to protect sensitive card data.
