This insert is built for durability and safety, with a robust thermoplastic housing that is halogen-free, reducing toxic emissions in case of fire. The screw terminals accept both rigid and flexible conductors from 1.5 to 2.5 mm², making wiring straightforward. Its changeover function allows for versatile switching applications, such as controlling a light from two locations when used with appropriate rockers. Compatibility with multiple Merten ranges ensures design flexibility across projects.

Ideal use cases

• Residential electrical installations requiring a reliable changeover switch
• Commercial buildings using Merten System M or System Design faceplates
• Retrofitting existing flush-mounted boxes with a modern switch insert
• Applications where halogen-free materials are mandated

Good to know

The Merten 627819 is supplied as an insert only; the rocker or toggle cover and frame must be ordered separately according to the desired design. It is rated IP20 for indoor use when properly installed with a compatible cover. The operating temperature range of -5 °C to +40 °C makes it suitable for most indoor environments. Always ensure installation is performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local regulations.
