KTI Networks KGC-300 Μετατροπέας Μέσων Gigabit Ethernet, RJ45 σε SFP, Multimode/Single-Mode

Extending a Gigabit Ethernet network beyond the 100-meter limit of copper cabling requires a reliable conversion to fibre optic infrastructure. The KTI Networks KGC-300 media converter bridges this gap by converting a 10/100/1000Base-T RJ45 copper connection to a 1000Base-X SFP fibre link, enabling long-distance connectivity over multimode or single-mode fibre depending on the installed SFP module.

Who is it for

Network administrators and integrators who need to connect remote segments, overcome distance limitations, or isolate electrical interference in enterprise, industrial, or campus environments. It is suitable for anyone deploying fibre optic links where a switch with built-in fibre ports is not available or cost-effective.

Main features

• Converts 10/100/1000 Mbps copper Ethernet to Gigabit fibre via an open SFP slot
• Supports multimode and single-mode fibre with appropriate SFP module
• Link Fault Pass-Through (LFP) for remote fault indication
• DIP switches for LFP, force mode, and auto-negotiation configuration
• Jumbo frame support up to 9K bytes
• Auto MDI/MDI-X on the RJ45 port
• LED indicators for power, link/activity, and speed on both ports
• Compact metal housing with external 5V DC power adapter

Specifications

• Standards: IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, 802.3ab, 802.3z
• Ports: 1x RJ45 (10/100/1000Base-T), 1x SFP slot (1000Base-X)
• Flow control: IEEE 802.3x
• Operating temperature: 0°C to 50°C
• Operating humidity: 10% to 90% non-condensing
• Power: External AC/DC adapter, DC 5V/1A

Tips

Select an SFP module that matches your fibre type and distance requirements. For multimode fibre up to 550 meters, use a 1000Base-SX SFP; for single-mode up to 10 km or more, use a 1000Base-LX or other appropriate SFP. Configure the DIP switches according to your network needs—enable LFP to propagate link failures to the remote device.
