Καλώδιο οπτικών ινών S/CONN ShiverPeaks 5m SC/ST

The ShiverPeaks Fibre Optic Cable S/CONN ShiverPeaks 5m SC/ST is a 5-metre multimode OM2 cable designed for reliable data transmission between network devices. It has ST and SC connectors on the ends and a 50 µm core diameter, supporting full duplex communication for simultaneous bidirectional data flow. The cable is suitable for short-range high-speed links commonly found in data centers, server rooms and office networks.

Advantages

This OM2 fibre optic cable provides consistent signal integrity and low attenuation over short distances, enabling stable high-speed connections. The presence of both SC and ST terminations offers compatibility with a wide range of switching equipment and transceivers. Full duplex support allows simultaneous send and receive channels, improving throughput in networked environments. The 5 m length balances reach and manageability for rack-to-rack or rack-to-equipment connections.

Suitable for

• Interconnecting switches, routers and transceivers in data centres
• Server-to-switch or patch-panel connections in server rooms
• Office backbone links and structured cabling segments
• Laboratory or testing setups requiring multimode fibre with SC and ST interfaces

Key specifications

• Length: 5 metres
• Fibre type: Multimode OM2
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector types: SC on one end, ST on the other
• Transmission mode: Full duplex

How to use

Identify the SC and ST ports on your devices and align the appropriate connector to the respective receptacle, ensuring the connector key or bayonet is correctly oriented. Insert the SC push-pull connector until it clicks and secure the ST connector using its bayonet twist mechanism. Avoid sharp bends and maintain recommended bend radius to prevent increased attenuation. For best results, keep connectors clean and free of dust before insertion; use appropriate fibre cleaning tools when necessary.

Recommendations

Use this 5 m OM2 cable for short-run multimode links where SC and ST compatibility is required. Store with gentle loops, avoid kinking, and inspect connector endfaces regularly. For longer distances or higher bandwidth requirements consider singlemode or higher-grade multimode fibres as appropriate.
