AV-Repeater Digitus DS-55524 8K DisplayPort Repeater

The Digitus DS-55524 8K DisplayPort Repeater extends a DisplayPort (DP) signal up to 30 m and complies with the VESA DisplayPort 1.4 standard. It supports resolutions up to 8K at 30 Hz and higher frame-rate 4K modes, and is powered via the included USB cable. Its compact silver housing and wired connectivity make it suitable for integrating into professional AV and workstation setups.

Advantages

The repeater supports multiple high-bandwidth modes including 8K/30Hz and 4K/120Hz, and is backward compatible with lower DisplayPort rates. It enables signal extension up to 30 m for 4K/60Hz and up to 15 m for 8K/30Hz when used with DP cable AWG 28 or better. HDR is supported and the unit offers plug-and-play operation with USB power for simple installation.

Suitable for

• Extending DisplayPort connections for high-resolution monitors
• Professional AV installations and digital signage
• Workstations requiring long cable runs for 4K or 8K displays
• Setups where compact, powered repeaters are needed

How to use

Connect the repeater inline between the source DisplayPort output and the display using DisplayPort cables. For 8K/30Hz operation, use DP cable AWG 28 or better and keep the cable length for the extended segment up to 15 m; for 4K/60Hz you can extend up to 30 m with similar cable quality. Plug the supplied USB cable into the repeater and a USB power source to provide the required power. The device is plug & play and requires no additional drivers.

Recommendations

To ensure stable high-resolution transmission, use high-quality DisplayPort cables (AWG 28 or lower—i.e., thicker conductors) and keep connections secure. For very long runs consider active or certified DP cables and place the repeater near the source or display as needed to minimize signal loss.
